WakeUp with RRU: Getting Ready for Tomorrow's Workplace
Canada's workplace is changing rapidly and companies that don't keep up risk losing their competitive edge. Here's what we face in British Columbia alone according to the BC Labour Market Outlook 2010 ‑ 2020 released last year:
- More than one million job openings are expected by 2020.
- Close to two-thirds of them will be due to retirements from the current workforce.
- One-third will be new jobs due to economic growth.
But with only about 650,000 students currently in our K to 12 education system, this projected growth in job openings leaves a very big gap to fill.
If you are worried by these numbers you need to be at the next Royal Roads University Vancouver Alumni Association event where Dr. Linda Manning, an Intercultural economist, Senior Fellow at the University of Ottawa and founder of Leadership Mosaic Inc., will talk about reframing challenges of workplace change into leadership opportunities.
An award-winning teacher and researcher, Linda will lead us through a fast-paced presentation that will include:
- 10 Ways the Workplace is Changing ‑ Demographics and Technology
- Changing Demographics ‑ generations and cultures
- Changing Workplaces ‑ Space and Time
- What does this mean for you and me?
- Reframing Change into Opportunity ‑ for Personal, Professional, and Organizational Growth.
You need to be there.
