Embracing the Jagged Edges - Stephanie Dawson

Name: Stephanie Dawson

Program/Graduation Year: MA in Professional Communication/2011

Describe your blog in one sentence.

My blog progresses from sharing feelings of starting the MA program, the completion of it, and now struggling to find a place in this changing and often chaotic world of communications.

What inspired you to start a blog?

My initial inspiration for the blog came from trying to juggle motherhood, work, and my university studies.

Who is your audience?

I look to attract an audience of prospective employers as I am a freelance writer; my blog also contains work samples from websites, newspapers, and magazines. I would like to include RRU alumni as my audience as I would like to read their blogs as well!

What is your favourite Royal Roads University memory?

I still remember - with clarity - the moment that our cohort first converged into the great hall to listen to our professors expand upon the program and to tell us what was store for us in the upcoming years. I remember the terror, the excitement, the disbelief, and confusion...and then that Black Eyed Peas song came on and I knew everything was going to be all right.
