Afterwards Guest Blogger - Kevin Chapman

Name: Kevin Chapman

Program/Graduation Year: Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication, 2009

Blog: Afterwards - Guest Post

Why did you want to share a guest blog on Afterwards?

Loss is difficult and confusing. Like anything else 'difficult and confusing,' writing often helps to negotiate emotions and bring clarity. Afterwards blog offered an appropriate opportunity to exercise those thoughts with an audience experiencing similar consequences of loss. I hope it creates a positive sense of understanding or connection to something we all must try to comprehend.

(Afterwards is the personal blog of Jennelle Dippel, a Royal Roads University alumna. She was featured here.)

What is your favourite Royal Roads University memory?

There are so many. How do I avoid clichés with a castle, peacocks and stunning gardens surrounding the campus?

Honestly, it was the routine and community. I loved developing relationships with the people I saw every day. By the end of the year our cohort felt closer to a family. I still maintain relationships with many of those classmates today. Running the trails through old growth forest was a great way to end the day, too.
